Oregon Man Sentenced To 22 Months In Prison For Food Stamps Fraud

An Oregon man is sentenced to nearly two years in prison for operating a food stamps fraud scheme out of his mini-mart in Portland.
39-year-old Nasr Iskander pleaded guilty to multiple charges last week, including first degree aggravated theft and unlawfully using food stamps benefits.

Prosecutors said Iskander had been illegally accepting cash in exchange for food stamps, and would sell the vouchers back to customers at a disproportionate rate.
Iskander reportedly accrued more than $185,000 over three years.
He was also ordered to pay back the full amount owed to the state.
