5 MS-13 Gang Members Arrested In Connection With Las Vegas Murders

Authorities recently arrested five MS-13 gang members in connection with at least 10 murders in the Las Vegas area.
Clark County Sheriff Joe Lombardo announced the arrests Monday, but did not identify the suspects.
He did release the names of 10 victims, whose bodies were found in remote areas near Lake Mead and around the city.
Lombardo confirmed all the victims were either shot or stabbed to death over the past year.

During the investigation, Las Vegas Metro Police confiscated a total of 18 stolen and illegally purchased firearms, and found some were used in the murders.
Four of the suspects are being held on federal immigration charges. This comes as the FBI warns about the gang’s increasing presence in the U.S.
The MS-13 gang is notorious for its violent tactics. According to an FBI report, U.S. gang membership increased by nearly 50-percent between 2013 and 2015.
Nearly 10,000 of that number includes MS-13 members living in the U.S. Many of which are unaccompanied minors, who came to the U.S. illegally.
On Tuesday, a FBI official told the House Committee on Homeland Security that the gang has gained noteriety because of itS “brutal nature” as well as a desire to kill for the sake of killing.
Earlier this year, ICE arrested over 100 suspected MS-13 members in the largest gang sweep its ever carried out.
During an address in May, President Trump vowed to take a hard line against the gang.
“It is our moral duty to keep our citizens safe and free, and to protect the right of every American to pursue their dreams,” said the president. “We don’t want MS-13 roving our streets, we’re getting rid of them by the thousands, they’re going to be out of here.”
This followed the arrests made in connection to a quadruple homicide by the gang in Long Island, New York. The suspects in that case are now facing the death penalty.
