On Sunday morning, President Trump referenced the last two spending packages he approved, each securing $700 billion or more in military spending.
He also said that the military contributes to our National Defense, just as a border wall with Mexico would as well.
The President added the border wall will stop drug trafficking, and enemy combatants from pouring into the country.
President Trump also said much can be done with the $1.6 billion in funds given to building and renovating the border wall.
He added the amount was only a down payment and that construction on the wall is expected to start immediately.
The president also called out democrats for abandoning DACA recipients, promising migrants that the GOP will not abandon them.
