Suspect Behind Toronto Van Attack Charged With Murder

The suspected driver behind Monday’s deadly van attack in Toronto is being charged with 10 counts of first degree murder.
25-year-old Alek Minassian appeared in a Toronto court Tuesday, where he was also indicted on 13 counts of attempted murder.
A motive behind the attack remains unclear, but Canadian authorities do not believe the incident is terror related. However, they do believe the act was intentional.

Minassian is expected to appear in court again tomorrow as prosecutors and investigators seek more answers.
Meanwhile, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is sending his deepest condolences to the families of the 10 victims killed and the 15 survivors injured in the attack.
During a press conference Tuesday, Trudeau said there is no reason to suspect there is any national security threat in the wake of the attack.
He praised first responders for their extraordinary response and for quickly tracking down and arresting the suspect Alek Minassian.
The prime minister said all Canadians stand united with the victims and their families.
Trudeau is planning a visit to Toronto soon, and said the situation is still very active.
