Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin backs President Trump on his claims China devaluates its currency, calling his remarks a ‘warning shot,’ in regards to potential future consequences.
Mnuchin’s response today came after a question about whether Monday’s tweet was accusing China of trying to devalue the U.S. dollar.
Reports say China is currently on the treasury’s semi-annual watchlist, which monitors foreign policy exchanges.
The treasury secretary blasted China for its alleged actions, and said this would not affect the U.S. economy moving forward.
