President Trump announced the return of Secretary of State Mike Pompeo from his recent trip to North Korea, and says he’s bringing three Americans who were imprisoned in Pyongyang.
In a series of tweets Wednesday, the president said he is pleased to inform the country the secretary of state is heading back to the U.S. with three wonderful gentlemen that everyone is looking forward to seeing.
He added, the men seem to be in good health, and also said the meeting with Kim Jong Un now has a set date and place.
Two of the Americans were imprisoned in North Korea last year, while another was detained back in 2015.
The president said Pompeo and the released Americans will land at Joint Base Andrews at 2:00 AM Thursday, and he will be there personally to greet them all.
