President Trump says the United States does not need former Obama-era Secretary of State John Kerry to interfere in negotiations with Iran over the nuclear agreement.
In a tweet Monday, the president said Kerry’s possibly illegal shadow diplomacy is unwanted on the very badly negotiated Iran deal.
He said Kerry is the one who created this mess in the first place.
Kerry has reportedly been fielding dozens of meetings and phone calls in recent months, voicing his support for the deal.
He’s also reportedly reached out to European officials, including French President Emmanuel Macron and meeting with Iran’s foreign minister at the United Nations.
Meanwhile, the president also took another shot at the special counsel’s Russia investigation.
President Trump accused Democrats of wanting the probe to continue so it hurts Republicans in this year’s midterms. He said Republicans need to get tough and smart before its too late.
The president went on to criticize the FBI for allowing disgraced Agent Peter Stzrok to continue at the agency after he was caught sending anti-Trump text messages to his girlfriend and agent Lisa Page.
Page and another disgraced FBI official — James Baker — submitted their resignations last week amid allegations of partisanship.
The president said the situation is a “total mess” and our nation has to get back to business.
