Former Trump campaign adviser George Papadopoulos is officially set to be sentenced September 7, after pleading guilty last fall to lying to the FBI about his overseas contacts.
A judge finalized the date Thursday, following a sentencing request by Special Counsel Robert Mueller.
Papadopoulos worked as a foreign policy adviser for the Trump campaign, though President Trump has since referred to him as a low-level aide.
He allegedly bragged to an Australian diplomat that Russians had dirt on Hillary Clinton at a bar, which reportedly sparked the Russia investigation
Papadopoulos faces a maximum of five years in prison
