Officials reveal more details about the suspect who police say opened fire inside a busy newsroom in Maryland, killing five people and gravely wounding others.
Officials said 38-year-old Jarrod Ramos entered the Capital Gazzette newspaper building in Annapolis Thursday in a targeted attack — and looked for his victims, as he walked through the first floor with a shotgun.
Ramos had a history of issues with the newspaper, according to reports.
Police said the paper received a threat via social media Thursday, but it’s unclear whether Ramos was behind the threat.
President Trump was briefed on the situation, and took to Twitter to give his condolences.
Ramos acted alone and burned his fingertips to obscure his identity, according to reports.
He is being questioned and his home is being searched, as authorities look for a motive behind the attack.
The NYPD deployed units to all major media outlets in New York City as a precaution.
