The U.S. Trade Representative releases a list of Chinese products subject to a 25 percent tariff on about $50 billion dollars worth of goods.
Trade officials confirmed Chinese trade practices are “unreasonable” and “discriminatory” and said it works diligently to undermine American industries and economic progress, in a statement released Friday.
President Trump has clarified bilateral ties with China are important, but the country’s reported theft of intellectual property and unfair trade practices must stop.
He went on to say the U.S. may impose additional tariffs following China’s decision to retaliate with the same measures.
