Rand Paul’s neighbor will spend 30 days behind bars in connection with his admitted attack on the senator.
Rene Boucher, 59, was sentenced by a federal judge Friday just three months after pleading guilty to assaulting a member of Congress.
Boucher reportedly attacked the senator in November of 2017, as the two feuded over yard debris.
In addition to jail time, the judge ordered Boucher to undergo a year of supervised release, pay a $10 thousand fine and refrain from contacting the senator or his family.
Boucher has waived his right to appeal and will report to prison on his own.
