Mexico Looks To Revive NAFTA Talks

North American trade ministers meet this week, in hopes of putting together a plan for improved NAFTA negotiations.
The scope of the talks is to revive constructive talks that have since stalled, a top Mexican official told reporters Monday.
Mexico’s economic minister is scheduled to meet with U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer in Washington this week.
He’ll be accompanied by Jesus Seade, the chief NAFTA negotiator for the incoming Mexican administration.
The two sides hope they can continue the progress being made and make a seamless transition for the new administration.
The two sides have been at odds over auto industry rules and a potential clause that would kill the deal if its not renegotiated in five years.
Mexican officials have expressed optimism about reaching an initial NAFTA deal by August.
